An Overnight stay near Bath to include
the American Museum

Thursday 12 September 2019

The Crescent, Quilts and Culture

A two day visit to Bath on 12th +13th September 2019 in conjunction with Johnsons Travel

On day 1 we will leave Johnsons coach depot in Henley in Arden at 9.00am . (Cars can be parked overnight at Johnsons).

We will travel to the American Museum at Claverton just outside of Bath for our first stop. Here we will have a guided tour of the museum taking in the Folk Art , textiles and quilts and the Kaffe Fassett quilts. There will be plenty of free time to have lunch, explore the wealth of exhibitions and the 30 acres of gardens, which include a replica of George Washington’s garden at Mount Vermont and ‘the largest collection of American garden features in the UK’.

Lunch is taken here at your own discretion.

We aim to leave the museum later in the afternoon to take in a cruise around Bath and a surprise visit to a very special place before driving to Leigh Park Country House Hotel and Vineyard where we will take our evening meal.

On day 2 we will drive into Bath and meet up with our guide who will take us on a personal tour of the city. The rest of the day will then be for you to decide whether to visit the famous Roman baths, explore ‘The Gloves that Dressed a Fashion House’ at the Fashion Museum or the Holburne Musuem, take a river cruise, spoil yourself with some retail therapy, enjoy a Sally Lunn bun at Sally Lunn’s Historic Eating House and generally enjoy all that Bath has to offer.

We will leave Bath late in the afternoon and journey back to Johnsons coach depot.

Our trips are always popular so please do get your application to Jo Brown at Johnsons as quickly as you can. I look forward to travelling with you again.
